Launch of 2011 Good Beer Guide - Thursday 16th September
We will be having our usual tour of Hartlepool pubs at lunchtime and a do at Saltburn Cricket Club in the evening. This year the official launch of the new Guide is on Thursday 16th September. You are all invited to start the celebrations at the Rat Race Ale House at 1302 hrs, then taking in the Globe and the Visitor Centre. In the evening, you are all invited to Saltburn Cricket Club at 1900 hrs, and where we have arranged for some food to be made available. We hope to see as many of you there as possible,

They have had many well-deserved years in the Good Beer Guide and will be badly missed.
Latest Clubs reported as selling Real Beer are Middlesbrough Golf Club, Brass Castle Lane, Marton and Thornaby Cricket Club.
The latest pub to offer Real Ciders is The Sportsman at Eaglescliffe where it seems the Raspberry Scrumpy is going down very well with the Ladies! Also offers Weston's Olde Rosie, proven to go down well with Real Women and Real Men , and Roast Pork!
Yarm Brasserie is to sell Stokesley Brewing Company beers as are outlets in M/bro, Osmotherley, Billingham,Yarm etc, They offer 2 bitters, a premium ale and porter. c/f website www.stokesleybrewingco.co.uk

Latest outlets now offering Real Beer are The Ketton Ox and The Keys, both in Yarm. The Ox offers Wells & Youngs of Bedford while The Keys provides Wychwood and Black Sheep.

An extra hand pull pump has been fitted at the Parkwood Hotel in Hartburn, featuring guest ales from the North Yorkshire Brewery range.
Also at Long Newton, the Vane Arms has reopened where licensees Jill and Paul are real ale stars in the making.

The site is very clearly laid out and informative with great local pictures.
Yarm's latest real ale outlet in Osbourne's. What was the Green Tree is now a contemporary bar selling guest ales - Thwaites Wainwright was on last week - but the ales on offer are constantly changing. Good value food at reasonable prices. No 7 bus passes every 10 minutes.
The Spotted Cow, Elwick Village.
New hosts Kelly and Michael have increased the real ale portfolio and are currently serving, Marstons Pedigree , Hobgoblin (both 4.5 abv) and Ringwood Best Bitter (a lighter beer at 3.8).
They will be serving Breakspear Oxford Gold & Jennings Cocker Hoop in the New Year and hope to have their forth real ale tap up and running within the next two weeks.

Just outside Whitby on the A171 is the family run Cross Butts, serving Black Sheep Bitter.Now called The Stables. Steam bus runs to Whitby in Season.
